Fanfarlo is a London-based indie pop band formed in 2006 by the Swedish musician Simon Balthazar. They make extensive use of the trumpet, violin and mandolin as well as more commonplace instruments such as guitars and drums.

Hot Chip is coming out with a fourth album on February 1st named, ‘One Life Stand’. They’re also prepping for a UK tour.

Them Crooked Vultures just rocks my face off. I love this album. It’s the kind of album you want to be listening to if you were ever in a plane crash. “Them Crooked Vultures is a rock supergroup that was formed in Los Angeles in 2009 by John Paul Jones, Dave Grohl and Josh Homme.”
BlacRoc is our generation’s modern interpretation of Rap-Rock. Created by the Black Key’s, Damon Dash and Jim Jomes. Their self titled album features appearances by Mos Def, Rza, Rakwon, Ludacris, Q-Tip and other guests.
The band first became well-known in 2008 after self-releasing an EP produced by Isaiah “Ikey” Owens. The group toured heavily behind the release and signed with Touch and Go Records that same year, who re-issued the EP. Touch and Go released their full-length, Tentacles, on April 7, 2009, which is to be the last new release issued by the label.

Holy Fuck is an electronica band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band uses live instrumentation and miscellaneous instruments and non-instruments (including a 35 mm film synchronizer, toy keyboards and toy phaser guns) to achieve electronic-sounding effects without the use of laptops or programmed backing tracks. According to Pitchfork Media, “The band was formed with the intent of creating the equivalent of modern electronic music without actually using the techniques—looping, splicing, programming and the like—of that music.”
Holy Panda Bear this band rocks! Can’t go wrong with a name like that. Check out all the weird toys they use as synth sounds. Loving all these Canadian bands.
Other than the weird Korean urban legend, Fan Death is electro pop duo from Vancouver B.C. They’ve been referred to as the Betty and Veronica of Disco Pop by rifflandia.com for their cute kitschy looks. Love the outfits in this video.
This collaboration with Grizzly Bear and Micheal McDonald is simply bad ass. Check out the original version as well.
No need to fuck around here: White-haired, blue-eyed former Doobie Brother and Steely Dan member Michael McDonald sings Grizzly Bear’s “While You Wait for the Others” on the flip side to the band’s new single, which is currently available on iTunes and 7″ via their official site. And he’s not doing backup vocals you can barely hear or whatever– dude takes the lead on this version in every possible way.
Even in the realm of stunt-y, generation-crossing collaborations, this is fucking weird. McDonald’s soul holler could not be more different than original singer Daniel Rossen’s troubled warble. – Pitchfork
